Central Station and the regional-train stations in the districts of Bad Godesberg, Beuel and Duisdorf account for Bonn’s excellent integration into the network of both long-distance and regional lines of Deutsche Bahn national railways.

From Central Train Station to Haus Venusberg:

Central bus station: Platform A1

Line 600 in direction of: Ippendorf Altenheim; runs every 20 minutes: ...7,....17,....27 etc. Get off the bus at: Haus Venusberg

Line 601 in direction of: Venusberg; runs every 20 minutes: ...00, ...20, ...40;

Get off the bus at: Sertürnerstr. and walk 436m further down Hager Weg

From 0:30 to 5:30am take the night bus Line N5

Route from Cologne:

Freeway 59 in the direction of Bonn, at the freeway intersection “Bonn-Beuel” follow direction “Koblenz A 565”, take the exit “Bonn -Poppelsdorf (B 9)”, and turn right at the first lights, follow the signs to “Venusberg” or “Unikliniken”, at the top of the hill next to the University hospital turn right into “Kiefernwerg” and at the end turn left into “Haager Weg”. The aim is at the righthand side after 400m.

Freeway 555 at the freeway intersection “Bonn-Nord“ follow the signs to „Koblenz“, Abfahrt Bonn-Poppelsdorf (B 9), take the exit “Bonn -Poppelsdorf (B 9)”, and turn right at the first lights, follow the signs to “Venusberg” or “Unikliniken”, at the top of the hill next to the University hospital turn right into “Kiefernwerg” and at the end turn left into “Haager Weg”. The aim is at the righthand side after 400m.

 

Route from Koblenz:
Freeway 61 at the freeway intersection „Meckenheimer-Kreuz“ follow the signs to Bonn (A 565), take the exit “Bonn -Poppelsdorf (B 9)”, and turn right at the first lights, follow the signs to “Venusberg” or “Unikliniken”, at the top of the hill next to the University hospital turn right into “Kiefernwerg” and at the end turn left into “Haager Weg”. The aim is at the righthand side after 400m.

By air

Express Bus line SB60 connects the Cologne/Bonn Airport Terminals with the Central Station in downtown Bonn in only 25 minutes. There is an Intercity-Express (ICE) from Frankfurt Airport to Cologne with a stop at the town of Siegburg. Travel time is approximately 45 minutes. The suburban tramway line 66 links Siegburg Station with Bonn Central Station.

 

Getting to Bonn from outside of Germany

Bonn is situated in the region North Rhine-Westphalia, has excellent road and rail links to cologne and the Ruhr area. If you are travelling to Germany by air there are a few convenient options.

The nearest and most simply linked airport to Bonn is Cologne/Bonn, which enjoys a frequent direct bus service (SB60) to Bonn main station, with a journey time of approximately 26 minutes. Bus tickets from the airport to Bonn can be purchased directly from the driver for 8,20€.

The next most conveniently located airports are:

  • Düsseldorf Airport, with a an approximately 1 hour direct train journey to Bonn (Regional Train R5)
  • Frankfurt Airport, with an adjacent rail way station from where a journey of approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes with one change of train in Siegburg.

Tickets

Train tickets are available via Deutsche Bahn.

Tram and bus tickets are available via Stadtwerke Bonn SWB.

Consider to buy a week ticket for ticket category 1b (inner city zone)

If you decide against a week ticket, consider to buy a tram or bus ticket with 4 or even 10 rides in category 1b. Ticket category "K" (for German "Kurzstrecke") is convenient for short rides with only 4 stops.
